I am Alex Tardif. I am a fourth generation Columbia County resident and a proud farmer that cares deeply about this community. I am running for Columbia County Commissioner seat #1 because I want the best for our residents and our future.
Community
I am passionate about our quality of life. I will always prioritize a viable economy with local businesses, infrastructure, public services, and recreation, that collectively provide for Columbia County. All people should have a voice in our future, and together we can foster a community that thrives.
Action
As the Executive Director of the Columbia Pacific Food Bank, I serve our community through action. My experience as a former County Commissioner, board member, and community volunteer, I have shown my commitment to bringing people together, launching successful initiatives, and driving results. My efforts in outreach ensure that every voice is valued, with the intention that everyone feels empowered as a resident in Columbia County.
Accountability
With a professional background in accounting and finance, I understand budgets, strategic plans, and the importance of details. I advocate for enforceable accountability and transparency. It is vital that the public is involved in decision-making as it directly impacts our county. I believe there needs to be trust between local governments and community members in order to build an environment that prioritizes the specific needs of our area.

About Alex Tardif
A Voice for Columbia County
Alex Tardif is a fourth generation Columbia County resident and family farmer. As a parent and foster parent, he is dedicated to a community to a strong and inclusive environment for all residents.
As a previous Columbia County Commissioner, Tardif is well-versed in responsibilities of the position and sees an immediate need for new leadership and vision for the future of the community.
Tardif is currently the Executive Director for the Columbia Pacific Food Bank and Scappoose School Board member. He has extensive experience serving as a board member and volunteer with many Columbia County organizations.
His mission is to bring people together to solve problems and operate effectively, and he has helped to launch many community projects.
Tardif offers a professional background in accounting and finance, strategic long-term planning, and state and local government operations.
Tardif is a Scappoose High School graduate and a graduate of the University of Portland with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
